Visual Storytelling Workshops Summer 2021

Tips & Tricks for Visual Storytellers

An interactive workshop that will teach you how to use your camera to tell stories about the people and places around you.

Held at the DSC Taikoo Shing Campus+ local field trips

Almost everyone can take a nice photo but not everyone can tell a story through a series of images. This workshop will help students to use their camera to capture the world around them and to tell stories through compelling, engaging photos.

During this week-long course, students will gain a better understanding of photography equipment, natural vs. artificial lighting, and composition tips and tricks to improve their photography skills. Students will also learn the art of visual storytelling and will complete assignments that will culminate in their very own photo essay.

- In-class learning + hands-on shooting time in and around the DSC Campus

- Training on how to use your DSLR or smartphone to capture beautiful images

- Learn the three components that make up a good photo & how to tell a story through a series of 3-5 images

- Practical tips for photo editing, file management, and sharing your work Daily assignments to reinforce lessons and to get constructive feedback

- Small class sizes to ensure one-to-one learning opportunities

- Upon completion of the course, students will receive a framed print of their work!
