STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS

VISUAL STORYTELLING WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS

An interactive photography workshop that will teach you how to use your camera to tell stories about the people and places around you.

During this 10-week course, students aged 13-18 will gain a better understanding of photography equipment, composition, natural vs. artificial lighting, portraiture, and street photography. Each session will be full of practical tips and tricks to improve their photography skills and, at the end, students will receive a framed print of their work!

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS

✓ In-class learning + hands-on shooting in and around the DSC Campus

✓ Training to use your DSLR or smartphone to capture beautiful images

✓ Learning the components of great photos & how to tell a story in 3-5 images

✓ Practical tips for photo editing, file management, and sharing your work

✓ Weekly assignments to reinforce lessons and to get constructive feedback

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Ben Marans is a professional photographer who tells stories about putting people and the planet first. Some of his clients include KELY Support Group, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and the Peninsula Hotel. His work has been published locally and internationally and he has trained both amateur and professional photographers via workshops and mentorship programs in Canada, Hong Kong, as well as online.
