STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS

An interactive photography workshop that will teach you how to use your camera to tell stories about the people and places around you.

During this week-long course, students in grades 9-12 will learn how to use their camera (smartphone, DSLR, or mirrorless) to take beautiful portraits, landscapes, and street photography shots. They’ll receive practical, hands-on tips about composition, making use of natural and artificial lighting, and street photography with the goal of improving their photography skills. At the end, each student will also receive a framed print of their work to hang at home!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Ben Marans is a professional photographer and photojournalist with years of experience shooting portraits, editorials, events, and stories of non-profits who are putting people and the planet first. His clients include KELY Support Group and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and his work has been published in SCMP, The Guardian, The Washington Post, and the Globe And Mail. Ben has experience training amateur and professional photographers via workshops and mentorship programs in Canada, Hong Kong, and online.
